Nestled in the illustrious DC Ranch community of Silverleaf, Team DSC® literally moved mountains during the creation of this custom luxury residence.
More than 3,000 cubic yards of bedrock was carved out of the Sonoran Mountains to allow the entire main living area of this home to remain on one level while children’s bedrooms and an elaborate game room preside above. Every stone salvaged from the mountainside was carefully preserved and re-embedded into the retaining walls lining the property. The home had to embrace the hillside that it was located on, wrapping gently around its slope while preserving as much of the natural desert vegetation as possible.
When first visiting the home, it was evident why the client purchased the lot – views in every direction. From the location there are beautiful views looking across the meticulously manicured greens of the golf course and surrounding desert. Spectacular views of the Sonoran Desert Mountains can be seen, layered with color, light and texture. Additionally, stunning night views of the nearby city lights of Scottsdale can be observed from the West.
The result of meticulous planning and creative vision is a wonderful blend of carefully placed, organic stone retaining walls. The rock, harvested directly from the site to create a mixture of natural stone and stucco buildings, was meticulously detailed and crafted to unify the site. Whether sitting poolside under the shade of the stone cabana, or enjoying a wonderful breakfast in the breakfast nook, one feels a part of the site taking in the beautiful surrounding desert.
Beyond the aesthetic finesse of Spanish-influenced grand entryways, reclaimed wood beams, solid walnut floors, and a magnificent infinity swimming pool overlooking a picturesque desert valley, this residence is the first LEED certified home in Scottsdale’s Silverleaf community.
