Building A Better Future

In 2017, Desert Star Construction, in partnership with an established team of founding trade sponsors, established an endowment that will fund in perpetuity the Team DSC Excellence in Craftsmanship Scholarships, supporting individuals whose goal is to work with a trade contractor discipline.

Recently, we were honored with letters from this year’s scholarship recipients who shared with us the impact our support has had on their education, their future careers and their lives. We are so excited to get to share with you an excerpt of their kind words. Together, we are helping to continue building a legacy of excellent craftsmanship in Arizona’s luxury home building industry. Thank you!

Thank you very much for choosing me for the Desert Star Construction Excellence in Luxury Home Building Scholarship.

I am currently a sophomore in the Construction Management program at ASU. My plan after school is to become a general contractor of custom homes. I love the design and creativity that is found in custom residential construction.

This award will, and already has taken, a considerable amount of weight off my shoulders… I have to work all the time to provide for my family, which takes attention off of my studies at school. So with this award, I will be able to spend more time studying and more time with my family.

Sincerely,
Trevor W.

As a recipient of the 2018-2019 Team DSC Scholarship for Excellence in Craftsmanship, I want to thank you.

Your contribution will be a great impact to my academic success at ASU.

This fall I will be continuing my junior year at the Del E. Webb School of Construction pursuing a degree in Construction Management… One of my goals for the future is to be able to take my construction expertise to teach construction courses for young adults through a high school vocational program. I hope that with my learning from ASU and my experience in the field I am able to prepare our youth to come up with original approaches to building in our modern world.

During my previous semesters at ASU, it has been very difficult for me to be involved as much as I hoped because of having to work to pay for school. With your support this semester, I will have a greater opportunity be more actively involved with school, clubs/organizations, and competitions than I did in the past… Thank you gain for your support in helping me pursue my dreams and goals.

With gratitude,
Fernando E.
