 My wife Carol and I arrived at Torrey Pines Golf Resort in La Jolla, CA on January 12, 2014 to begin what would be the most amazing business experience of my career as a luxury home builder: High Performance Forum by New York Times best–selling author and publisher of SUCCESS Magazine, Darren Hardy. No cell phones or electronic devices for the entire time, and yes, laser focus was a prerequisite. I was in the room with 24 amazing people whom many operate on the national stage.  In November 2013, Desert Star Construction and Team DSC® had the honor of hosting the National Custom Builders Council (NCBC) in Scottsdale, AZ for our annual conference. NCBC is our professional Peer Group and an organization that encourages Best Practices in all areas of Business and Operations as it pertains to custom luxury home building. | GOING GEOTHERMAL |
 As many of you already know, Desert Star Construction had the honor of being featured in the news article Going Geothermal for the completion of our 11th LEED certified residential project. The report appeared in the Valley & State section of The Arizona Republic and AZCentral.com last September 2013 and focused on one of our Silverleaf custom projects that incorporated geothermal technology to sustainably heat and cool the home. | MEET TEAM DSC® – KIERAN DAVERN, HEAD OF CONSTRUCTION |
|
Kieran has been working in some form of the construction industry since he was 16 years old. As a ten–year veteran at DSC, he has expertly leveraged that experience, earning him a most impressive track record that raised him from assistant project manager to superintendent within six months and finally to Head of Construction just three short years later.
What does Kieran do best for DSC?
“I’m an avid weight lifter, so we could go with ’I can lift heavy things’,” he jokes. “On a more serious note, I’d say it’s my ability to manage 360 degrees – from trade contractors to clients to coworkers. That’s where I feel I really make a difference.”
Kieran holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Arizona State University’s Del E. Webb School of Construction and School of Architecture and Environmental Design, where he was both a scholarship recipient and on the Dean’s List. READ ABOUT KIERAN… |
